My New Portfolio Section

Full Article:

Finally, after weeks of doing everyone else’s design work, I’ve finished my first round portfolio. Many sleepless nights the past week, coupled with an overwhelming neglect for my own posts and comments have kept me focused on finishing this immediately.

Soon there will be a slide out for text links by category and name, full search engine indexing for the blog and portfolio, html title changes on the fly, as well as a speed up of the overall engine, hopefully, with a little pre-timed loading (instead of the full load). My only concern is how to make a version that works without javascript, hmmm…

Nevertheless, I made this using Nall Doherty’s excellent Coda Slider, albeit heavily modified for my needs. The goal was to pop out a portfolio that worked the way I like portfolios to work:

  1. No Flash
  2. I can launch each piece with a new tab
  3. I can bookmark each piece, or email them on the fly
  4. I can view it all without additional server reloads
  5. I can rifle through pieces
  6. I can read brief reviews and links

Should the load time become a huge complaint, I may very well do a single page of thumbnails that links to this individual load page. Regardless, your feedback is welcomed and appreciated – look for a spruce of the additional pages soon as well!
